The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL) is working to acquire and redevelop this property to provide rent-to-own housing for qualified Native Hawaiian families. In the process, DHHL and its relocation team are committed to ensuring that current residents are supported with care, fairness, and transparency.

About the Future Redevelopment

Once relocation is complete, the property will be redeveloped into affordable rent-to-own housing for beneficiaries of the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act. The new units will include:

  • Upgraded electrical systems

  • Cooling & ventilation improvements

  • Infrastructure enhancements for long-term livability

  • Pathways to homeownership for Native Hawaiian ʻohana
